Today is a very exciting today. Today marks the first day that I have a voice. A voice to scream, a voice to celebrate, and a voice to complain.
Before I began, I would like to give you all some background on myself. I am 30 years old and employed as an industry consultant for a fortune 99 insurance company. Prior to this role, I was a part time faculty memeber at the University of Akron. I am a graduate of Akron. I currently hold a BA in history and a Master's degree in education. I am now scheduled to graduate in December 2005 from Ashland University with a MBA and a concentration in "a little bit of everything".
With being one of the youngest consultants in this area, I take a lot of heat from the other consultants. I firmly believe that most of these people are threaten by my youth, enthusiasm, and fire. I feel that corporate american has moved from a "good old boy" network to back-stabbing arena.
With that in mind, how can a hard working individuals get ahead in corporate America without upsetting co-workers? Is corporate America a place for the young and talent or a safe haven for inept, inefficient, relationships?
